Lynnie Jordan Turner

Lynnie Jordan Turner , 94, of Columbus, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, March 23, 2018 beginning at 2:00 P.M. EST, with Reverend Curtis Flowers officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Parkhill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. EST.  

Lynnie was born August 17, 1923 to the parents of Lambert Aaron Jordan and Emma Jordan.  Lynnie was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. As the spouse of a military veteran for 25 years, Lynnie lived her life dedicated to caring for her country, family, her loved ones and by kindly helping people through her charitable works.  She will forever be missed.

Other than her parents, Lynnie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Sgt. (Ret.) John C. Turner as well as six brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include daughters, Susan Sanders of Columbus, MS and Melanie Mitchell of Columbus, GA; one sister, Rachel Savage of Longview, TX; four grandchildren, John K. Sanders (Melissa) of Jacksonville FL, Kelli Upchurch (Keith) of Columbus, MS, Holly Hattaway of Midland, GA and Lindsay Tarwater of Denton TX and six great grandchildren, John, Katie, Haley, Madison, Emma and Brodie.
