Madie Turner

Madie B. Turner, 95, of Phenix City, AL slipped into eternity Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2020 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner was born August 12, 1924 in Brundidge, AL daughter of the late William and Maudie Jackson Barr. She had retired from Sunshine Bakery as a Packer. Mrs. Turner was an active member of New Testament Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving in many ministries. She will be remembered as a loving, kind and giving person who never turned down anyone in need. Her compassion for others will always be remembered by her family and those she helped.

Mrs. Turner was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Turner. 

Survivors include her three sons, Joseph Grimes (Joyce), Richard Grimes and James Grimes (Kathy) all of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Wendy, Angie, Jamie, Daniel and Tabitha; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous other family and friends also survive.
