Mrs. Marcia Grisham Smith

Mrs. Marcia Grisham Smith, of Salem, Alabama, went to be with her Lord on Friday, December 16, 2022, while at her residence surrounded by her family and close friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM EST on Wednesday December 21, 2022, at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Flowers for Mrs. Smith can be sent in care of Vance Brooks Funeral Home 4048 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia.

Mrs. Smith was born in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of the late Marvin B. Grisham and Glenda Jones Grisham. For most of her adult life, Marcia worked as a legal secretary for various law firms in Columbus, GA. When Mrs. Smith was not working, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and enjoying watching the hummingbirds on the back porch. She also loved being with kids and her beloved pets. She was a kind God-fearing woman who was always supportive of her children. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church for over twenty-five years. Above all, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Robert Smith and a step-son Pete Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory is one son Justin Smith and his wife Ariel of Salem, AL; one step-daughter Barbara Cutshall and her husband Alan of Newnan, GA; sisters Diane Scrimpshire of Columbus, GA and Debby Henderson and her husband Eric of Panama City Beach, FL; life-time best friend Sandra Hinton; niece Ashlyn Scrimpshire and nephews Michael Scrimpshire and Holt Bennett.

The family would like to say a “Heart-Felt” Thank You to the nurses and staff of Columbus Hospice for their devoted care at the end of Mrs. Smith’s long fought battle with cancer.
