Margaret Brooks Corlew

Margaret Brooks Corlew, 71, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at her residence.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Thursday, December 19, 2019 beginning at 12:00 pm with Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 11:00 am until noon, one hour prior to the service.

Margaret was born on August 1, 1948 in Coffee County, AL to the late Comer Marion Brooks, Sr. and Mary Bentley.  She was employed for many years at Stat Medical Service where she retired as a phlebotomist.  Margaret was a woman with many special gifts and talents.  Beautiful gardens were produced by her nurturing and caring hands.  She also enjoyed creating unique ceramic pieces and going to the casino.  One of her favorite things to do was working as an instructor for line dancing classes.  Margaret will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but she will always hold a very special place in the lives of those who knew and loved her so dearly.

Other than her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 32 years, Herbert M. Corlew and brother, Comer Marion Brooks, Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Johnson of Columbus, GA and Tammy Martin of Phenix City, AL; son, Jeff Bramley of Columbus, GA; sisters, Carol Hanchey of Columbus, GA and Betty Stenger (Carl) of Enterprise, AL; brother, Comer Brooks (Tina) of Elba, AL; special cousin, Lamar Stewart; nieces and nephews: Brenda Jury (George), Linda Wright, Betty Cote (Ken), Danny Milner (Shelby).

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA  31909.

The family would like to thank the staff at Columbus Hospice for all the love, support, and care given to Mrs. Corlew and her family.
