Mrs. Margaret A. Ford

Margaret A. Ford, 75, of Columbus, GA passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Francis Hospital.  A funeral service will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Monday, October 5, 2020 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. The interment will conclude at Evergreen Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Margaret was born on April 4, 1945 in Columbus, GA to the late Tasker Smith and Leevettie Evans Smith. She was employed for several years at Bibb Mills and Swift Mills where she worked as a weaver. Margaret was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who adored her family. The times they spent together were always dear to her heart. During her life, Margaret touched the hearts and lives of many. This special lady will truly be missed but will always be cherished with the sweetest of memories.

Other than her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Verlon Reese Ford; brother, Thurmond Smith; sister, Geraldine Calhoun; and grandson, Robert Wayne Isaacs.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Ann Isaacs (Dewayne) of Cataula, GA; companion and caregiver, Scott Shores of Columbus, GA; grandchildren, Amy Lynn Isaacs-Carney (Michael) of Waverly Hall, GA and Kevin Gene Isaacs of Cataula, GA; eight great-grandchildren: Bradley Isaacs, William Isaacs, Abbygayl Isaacs, Chelsea Guy, Emaleigh Isaacs, Drake Hulsman, Joanna Barfield, and Brandon Barfield, Jr.
