Margaret Lamerle Bumgarner

Margaret Carpenter Bumgarner, 93, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at her residence in Columbus, GA.  A funeral service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, June 03, 2016 beginning at 3:00 P.M. EST with Pastor Hayes officiating.  The interment will conclude the service at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, GA.  The family will receive friends Thursday, June 02, 2016 at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. EST.  

Mrs. Bumgarner was born October 16, 1922 in Columbus, GA to the parents of the late Drew J. Carpenter and Connie Lou Deloach Carpenter.  She was a member of Edgewood Assembly of God. She was self-employed as a house keeper.

Other than her parents, Ms. Bumgarner is predeceased by her husband, Dan Bumgarner; two sisters:  Myrtice Hudgins and Jacquelyn Werner; and two brothers:  D.J. Carpenter and Jessie Carpenter.

Survivors include three children:  Glenda Austin of Whittier, CA and Twyla Mobley of Columbus, GA; one son, Neal Shierling (Linda) of Columbus, seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
