Margaret Williams Ruth

Margaret Williams Ruth, 91, formerly of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Cobb Hospital in Austell, GA.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Rodney Mitchell officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ruth was born July 20, 1925 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Ernest E. Williams and Ruby Wade Williams Cook.  She was a homemaker and a member of Auburn Heights Baptist Church.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Phillip B. Ruth; a daughter Patricia Wright and two sisters, Frances Jenkins and Lois Helms. 

She is survived by a son, Neal Ruth and wife Linda of Powder Springs, GA; a sister, Peggy Gresham of Phenix City, AL; a half-sister, Sylvia Messick of Troy, AL; a step-brother, Jack Cook of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Stacy A. Wright, Sandra Joy Brown, Nicholas C. Wood and Brittany L. Hollis; eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; many extended family members and caring friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Auburn Heights Baptist Church, 4027 Auburn Road, Phenix City, AL 36870.
