Margie Nell Waller

Margie Nell Nelson Waller, 74, of Phenix City, AL passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT Monday, August 17, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Jonathan Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Margie was born January 17, 1941 in Elba, AL to the late Perry Nelson and Lucille Prescott Wood. She was retired as Vice President of SunTrust Bank in Columbus, GA with 27 years of service. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City. She enjoyed dancing, singing, traveling, fishing, was a big Alabama Crimson Tide fan, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Christeen Dwyer and Donnis Nelson.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth D. Waller and wife Marsha of Augusta, GA, and Jeffrey W. Waller and wife Aitza of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Linda Griffin and husband Jimmy, Thelma Taylor and husband Earl, and Sherry Chandler and husband Vic, all of Phenix City, AL

(6) Grandchildren, Allie Bowling (Dwight), Kara Brakefield (Lake), Anissa Waller Del Valle, Alexandra N. Waller Del Valle, Andrea S. Waller Del Valle, and Alanis C. Waller Del Valle; (3) great grandchildren, Karolyn Brakefield, Blanchard Brakefield, and Addison Bowling, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
