Marie McFay Hall, 96, of Phenix City, AL passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Piedmont Columbus Regional Midtown. Funeral services will be held at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA on Friday, May 20, 2022 beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Tracy Sanders and Rev. Ken Savage officiating. The interment will conclude at the Chapel of the Pines in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 until 12:00.
Marie was born on September 6, 1925 in Black, AL to the late James Henry McFay and Arrie Marlow McFay. She was a faithful member of Beallwood Church of God, where she served as church treasurer for over 25 years. Marie loved her Lord and lived her life wholeheartedly for Him. Her desire to serve others could be seen through her cooking, baking, encouraging words and sweet smiles, and, as a result, she became famous throughout the church and community for her chocolate cake. It was easy for others to realize that Marie deeply loved and cared for her family, leaving a legacy for them to follow. She also is the source of a multitude of special memories that will forever be locked inside the hearts of those who were blessed to have her in their lives.
Other than her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband J.D. Hall, son Jimmy Hall, daughters-in-law LaDean Hall and Carol Hall, son-in-law Larry Thompson, and all of her ten siblings.
Survivors include daughters Lucy Thompson of Phenix City, AL and Marion Robinson (Rainey) of Box Springs, GA; sons Kenneth Hall (Lynn) of Harris County, GA and Dennis Hall of Phenix City, AL; daughter-in-law Elaine Hall of Phenix City, AL; 12 grandchildren Pamela Ryals (Ken), Emory Hall (Tammy), Angie Dawson (Rod), Bruce Thompson (Tammy), Jeffrey D. Robinson (Jennifer), Adam Dewey Robinson, Michael Stanley Robinson (Loretta), Jim Allen Hall (Fabi), Olan Hall, Jeffrey Godfrey (Cassie), Matthew Hall (Rebecca), and Amy Hall; 23 great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Magen, Kendra, Whitney, Brittnay, Bruce, Jr., Cameron, Amanda, Josh, Bailey, Braxton, Kyle, Emily, Elliot, Rani, Garrett, Abigail, John, Cora, Andrew, Jake, Damion, and Deven; 13 great-great-grandchildren Raylan, Bransyn, Skylan, Avalyn, Preston, Micah, Hannah, Payton, Blakley, Hampton, Eli, Caroline, and Sellers.
