Marie Sharpe

Marie Sharpe, 71, of Salem, AL, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home early Thursday morning, January 9, 2025.

Ms. Sharpe was born August 16, 1953, in Phenix City, AL, daughter of the late Thomas Sharpe and Catherine Hodge Sharpe. She had worked most of her time as a long-haul truck driver. She was an ambitious lady with a strong mind set to achieve many things including earning her Bachelor of Science degree late in life. She had a green thumb with everything she touched making her home a beautiful garden. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, and sipping her coffee and loving her Dr. Pepper moments. She was a Baptist by faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Robinson, and two brothers, Henry Sharpe, and James Sharpe

She is survived by two sons, Eric Culver and wife Marlene, and Lee Batts and wife Danielle; two sisters, Carolyn Hampton, and Vickie Crouse; five grandchildren, Arbella Culver, Justin Culver, Hunter Culver, Damien Batts, and Starr Batts; several nieces, nephews, other loving extended family members, and numerous friends, with many of them calling her “mom.”

Her family plans to hold a memorial service at a future time to honor her life, love, and memories.
