Marilyn McMorris Jordan, 83, of Phenix City, AL slipped into the arms Jesus on November, 24, 2016 with her daughter and granddaughter and son-in-law holding her hands. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 27, 2016, at 3:00 EST at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, Al with Rev. Bud Rupel and Dr. David Kees officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:00 at the funeral home. A private interment will be held by the family.
Mrs. Jordan was born on October 29, 1933 in Peoria, IL to the late Parker Albert McMorris and Margaret Travis McMorris. She was retired from St. Francis Hospital where she served as a receptionist in the ER. She was a longtime member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Columbus and an honorary member of Smiths Station Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she preceded in death by her husband, Jack Jordan, and a sister, Phyllis McMorris.
She was known for her cheerful personality and was always full of joy. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and she loved her family. She leaves a legacy of love and compassion for all.
She is survived by her only child, Renee Jordan Blanton and husband Jerome, two grandchildren, Travis Jacob Blanton and wife Celina, and Sarah Elizabeth Gibson and husband Jason, five grandchildren, Gunnar, Jett, and Steele Gibson and Kaylyn and Kaydyn Blanton, a niece and nephew, Connie Newman (Joe) and James Jordan (Waldeen), and countless other loving family members, church family, and many caring friends.
