Marilyn Wright

Marilyn Joiner Wright, 75, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Friday morning, August 3, 2018 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held 3:00 pm EDT Monday, August 6, 2018 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Jonathan Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wright was born June 24, 1943 in Columbus, GA to the late Grady Joiner and Louise Mayfield Joiner.  She was employed with Columbus Specialty Hospital in Columbus, GA.  She enjoyed reading, but her passion was her family; she loved supporting all her grandchildren’s sports activities, and sharing special times of joy with all her family.  She was a member of Britt David Baptist Church in Columbus.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Roy D. Wright, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Wright Kelley and husband Donnie of Opelika, AL, and Roy Donald “Donny” Wright, Jr. of Phenix City, AL; (6) grandchildren, Renee Wright, Justin Botts (Krystle), Allie Kelley (fiance’ Ethan Baber), Danielle Wright (Hunter), Trent Kelley, and Roy D. “Buck” Wright, III; (2) precious great-grandsons, Karson, and Luke, and a host of extended family and many caring friends.
