Marion Julian “M.J” Morris, 82, of Phenix City, AL died at his home on Monday, September 13, 2021 with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM (EST) on Friday, September 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Chaplain Daniel Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Morris was born December 28, 1938 in Fitzgerald, GA son of the late Monroe Morris and Ruby Barrentine Morris. He had retired from Eagle & Phenix Mills after 40 years of service where he was a Finisher. He was a member of Philadelphia Church of God in Edmund, OK. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry and any type of woodworking. Mr. Morris also enjoyed going to Flea Markets looking for great deals. We will remember the example he set for us as a man of great faith, hard work and putting family first.
Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Addie Pearl Pinkston Morris; three brothers, Jimmy, Travis and Charles Morris; one sister, Lain Britt.
Survivors include his four children, Julian Lee Morris (Michelle), Brent S. Morris (Regina), Barry S. Morris (Ursela) and Michael K. Morris (Brooke); two sisters, Thelma Monczyn (Joe) and Carol Martin; two brothers, Curtis Morris (Peggy) and Henry D. “Buddy” Morris (Cathy); brother-in-law, Hoot Britt and two sisters-in-law, Sharon Morris and Carolyn Morris; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
