Marion “Winnard” Maddox, Sr., 73, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Friday evening, April 28, 2017.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EDT Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Maddox was born November 23, 1943 in Coffee County, AL to the late Rudolph Dolphus
“Smokey” Maddox and Gerother Victoria Wingard Hicks. He was retired as owner / operator of Accurate Moving and Van Lines. He served our country and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed spending quality time with all his grandchildren, traveling, and fishing, and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife and friend, Frances Georgean Stephens, two brothers, J. Ben Maddox and Herston Rudolph Maddox, and a granddaughter, Jovi Maddox.
He is survived by his sons, Marion Winnard “Marty” Maddox, Jr., Richard Edward “Ricky” Maddox and wife Lynn, Michael Rudolph “Rudy” Maddox, and John Wesley Cyree, four sisters, Linda Maddox Hammond, Debra Wilson and husband Jerry, Regina Norris, and Cindy Ledkins, two precious granddaughters, Heather Georgeann Maddox, and Katelynn Victoria Maddox, numerous other loving family members, and many caring friends.
