Marshall “Clay” Huguley, 86, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, October 1, 2016 in the comfort of his home.Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm EST Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.Mr. Huguley was born June 19, 1930 in Columbus, GA to the late James Marshall Huguley and Ella Mae Hunt Huguley. He was the owner / operator of Huguley’s Grocery, and Huguley Motors and had a passion for selling used autos and helping people. He served four years in the Army National Guard. Governor John Patterson appointed him as an honorary Lt. Colonel on the government staff. He was a former Mason of the Phenix City Masonic Lodge. He also served in the JC’s as well as serving on several boards in Phenix City. He was a master pistol marksman and served as a marshal for the Civil Defense. He loved farming, nature, and the outdoors, and enjoyed spending time on the farm in Crawford. Mr. Huguley was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church in Phenix City. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Robert Huguley.He is survived by his beautiful bride of 66 years, Margaret Elizabeth Mayberry Huguley; his children, Elaine Wells, Linda Gail Huguley Dykes, James Marshall Huguley, II and wife Cindy, Sharon Makuakane and husband Lawrence, and Teresa Maupin and husband Walter all of Phenix City, AL; (11) grandchildren, Kristy Cole, Michael Dykes, Marshall Huguley, III (Raven), Stephen DiLeonardo (Amanda), Crystal Barnette (Randy), Megan Diaz (Henry), Kimberly Hoskins (Brett), Clay Huguley, Trey Maupin (Ashley), Travis Maupin, and Lauren Makuakane, (12) great grandchildren, Chase and wife (Yadrianiss), Alexis, Jackson, Abby, Clayton, Chandler, Stephen, Sophia, Gabby, Caden, Logan, and Bonnie, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
