Martha Merritt Bryan

Martha Merritt Bryan, 95, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am EST, on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hank Austin officiating. Visitation will be from 10 until 11:00 prior to the service on Thursday.

Mrs. Bryan was born on June 3, 1919, in Geneva County, AL, the daughter of the late William W. Merritt and Ida Howell Merritt. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Hugh Dorsey Bryan; sons, W. Michael Bryan and William R. Bryan and sisters, Mary Ezekiel, Naomi Baggett and Hazel Marie Merritt.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Nanci Bryan of Phenix City, AL and Nancy Bryan of Lookout Mtn, GA; sisters, Jean Collins of Dothan, AL, Jimmie Brigandi (Charlie) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Sarah Grace Mandile of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, William G. Bryan, Michael (Lindsey) Bryan, Noel Bryan (Shane) Hayes, Nathan Bryan, William R. (Coralee) Bryan, Jr., Lauren (Cole) Costanzo; 8 great-grandchildren; many extended family members and close friends.
