Martha Watson, 92, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Park Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Willie Martin officiating. The interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 am until 10:30 am at Vance Brooks Funeral Home – Columbus.
Martha was born on October 20, 1929, in Slocomb, AL, the daughter of the late Jonah Halstead and Eunia Halstead. She worked as a Dental Lab Tech in Columbus, GA for many years. Martha was a Christian. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, as well as the Eastern Star. Martha loved her family and enjoyed cooking for family get togethers. She loved to talk on the phone to her many friends and keeping in touch with them, and she loved her church family. Martha will always be remembered for her loving spirit. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Watson; father, Jonah Halstead; mother, Eunia Halstead; three sisters, and three brothers.
She is survived by her son and daughter in-law Freddie and Rosemary Watson; three grandsons, Christopher Watson, Troy Watson, and Fred Watson; eight great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren; as well as several extended family and caring friends.
