Marvin Jackson Niles

Marvin Jackson Niles, 86, of Phenix City, AL was called home on Sunday, September 4, 2022 while his family was by his side.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM (EST) on Wednesday, Sept 7, 2022 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Scot Keppel officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Niles was born August 26, 1936 in Luverne, AL son of the late Harmon Jackson Niles and Vera Deavers Niles. He as a Contractor by trade building the first Jim Walters homes in the Southeast. His carpentry was performed during the daytime after he and his wife had worked 3rd Shift at Eagle Phenix Mills. For him, fishing was not only a pastime, but something he loved as he was good at it and it allowed time with family and friends. He always had a super garden having grown up on a farm. It was amazing the vegetables he could grow. Also, he loved to share the bounty of his harvest with family and friends. Mr. Niles was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church where he worshiped with family and friends.

He is now safely in heaven with his parents, Harmon and Vera Niles, his wife of 65 years, Katherine Amerson Niles, his son, Jimmy Earl Niles and three siblings, Ed Niles, Vonsile Beach and Ruby Maddox; daughter-in-law, Mary Niles; and a host of friends.

Survivors include his three sons, Billy Niles (Jeanette), David Niles, and Mike Niles (Cathy); one sister, Margie Ganus (Larry) and one brother, Eric Niles (Jeanette); fourteen grandchildren Amy Dansby, Stacy Stines, Lacey Niles, David Connell (Ciera), Chase Niles, Kathy Jo Byrd, James Byrd, Elmer Byrd, Leslie Williams, Brittany Weaver, Megan Svoboda, Michael Niles, Justin Niles and Tessa Niles; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
