Mary Ann Collier

Mary Ann Collier, 94 passed away peacefully at Columbus Hospice on March 11, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EST, on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steve Williamson and Rev. Kevin Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow the service at Crawford Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 on Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Ann was born in Smiths Station, AL to Nelson and Lola Floyd Bartholomew.  She was married in 1940 to Cranford H. Collier and they remained in a happy marriage until his death in 1988. They were blessed with two children, Patsy Collier Weathers and Ted Collier.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded by her son Ted and brother Carlton Bartholomew.

Ann was a devoted member of Crawford Baptist Church throughout most of her life until health issues prevented her attendance. She taught Sunday school for many years and was active in many other church activities.

Ann is survived by her daughter Patsy Weathers (Ned), grandson Mike Weathers (Theresa) and granddaughter Beth Weathers. She is also survived by great-grandsons, Andrew (Amber) Weathers and Austin Weathers, as well as two great-great-grandsons Landon Mitchell, Aiden Weathers and other relatives.

The family wishes to thank Myrna and other staff at the Medical Center. Additional heartfelt thanks go to China, Sandi, Theressa and other staff at Columbus Hospice.
