Mary Barker

Mary Gates Barker, 67, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully Thursday, March 30, 2017 at her home.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm EDT Monday, April 3, 2017 at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Barker was born July 17, 1949 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late Arthur Gates and Bertha Mae Lanier Snellings.  She worked for many years as a Department Manager at Wal-Mart.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brandi Barker and a brother, Jackie Eugene Gates.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Barker of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Dawn Williams and husband Randy of Valley, AL; one son, Jason Barker of Phenix City, AL; one brother, Richard Gates and wife Linda of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Gavin Smith, Corey Smith, Jared Barker, Brina Barker, Autumn Barker; a great-grandchild, Landin Smith and numerous other family members.
