Mary Blue Newsome

Mary Blue Newsome, 93, of Phenix City, Alabama, left this world to be with her Lord on Monday, November 9, 2020, while surrounded by her loving family.
A Graveside Service will begin at 1:00 PM, on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Newsome Cemetery with Ron Newsome, Pat Smith and Ray Smith officiating.
Mrs. Newsome was born in Marion County, Georgia the daughter of the late Jack Blue and Alberta Owens Blue. Mrs. Newsome then earned her Nurse Diploma Degree and she was a hard working Registered Nurse that raised five children. She spoiled her children in many ways but tempered it with a peach switch. She loved all her children and her late husband Calvin Newsome always said “You got a good mama.” She loved all her grandchildren dearly. Her mother was a great cook and she must have paid attention because many were blessed to have meals prepared by her. She had a green-thumb and her plants and flowers were something for everyone to enjoy. Her family and friends are thankful for the 93 years God blessed her with, knowing at the same time, she is in a better place.
In addition to parents and husband, Mrs. Newsome is preceded in death by one sister and her son Robert Carter Newsome.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter Susan Newsome of Phenix City, AL; three sons Ronald Newsome (Lynn) of Wadley, AL, Joe Newsome (Eloisa) of Port O’Connor, TX and William Newsome (Kelly) of Phenix City, AL; nine grandchildren Amy Newsome, Beth Johnson, Layel Grant, Brooke Martin, Casey Grant, Caroline Newsome, Kason Newsome, Alex Doolin and Chris Doolin; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many caring friends
