Mary Candace “Candy” Underwood

Mary Candace “Candy” Underwood, 67, of Columbus, GA, passed away January 26, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday January 30, 2015, beginning at 6:00 P.M. EST at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. Reverend Darryl Rushing will be officiating services. Candy was born February 16, 1947 in Kings Mountain, NC, daughter of the late John Kezziah and Marie Moss Kezziah. Candy was a Registered Nurse. She began her nursing career at Cobb Hospital in Phenix City, AL. She later was employed at Open Arms Medical Arts. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 25 years, Robert Gary Underwood. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Stanford, of Columbus, GA, and Brandy Underwood, of Columbus, GA; two grandchildren, Kevin Stanford and Ryan Stanford. She also leaves behind her fur baby Zelda, and many extended relatives and caring friends.
