Mary Evalene Hutcherson

Mary Evalene Hutcherson, 89, of Phenix City, AL stepped into Heaven peacefully while at her son’s residence Monday, January 04, 2021.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Thursday, January 07, 2021 in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Ricky Ward officiating. A private interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hutcherson was born July 13, 1931 in Alexander City, AL daughter of the late Claude E. Nelson and Carrie Nelson. She retired from Southern Foods and was primarily a homemaker. She was a dedicated member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Hutcherson enjoyed time with her family and friends and playing BINGO. We will remember her as a committed Christian, who loved her family and was loved in return. She will always be cherished in our hearts and memories.
Mrs. Hutcherson was preceded in death by her parents, and birth mother, Eunice Adell Scott Nelson. Husband, Haywood Hutcherson, one brother, Everett Nelson, one sister, Nell Baker, two sons, Wayne and Danny Hutcherson and a grandson, Jason Lanier.
Survivors include her two children, Ron Hutcherson (Becky), Phenix City, AL and Cathy Turner (J.T.), Pembroke, GA; two siblings, Edna Thomas and Garon Nelson (Toni); ten grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
