Mary Frances Cole, 75, of Phenix City, AL, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice.
A Memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm EST, on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Golden Acres Baptist Church, Depot Youth Center, with Chaplain Dean Knipe officiating.
Mary was born on March 16, 1939, in Phenix City, AL, the daughter of Judge William Parker and Edna Josephine Franklin. She worked at Fieldcrest Mills in the finishing dept. and at Cobb Hospital as a central supply clerk. Mary enjoyed needle work, cross stitching, sewing, cooking, gardening, and taking care of her parents.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by 2 nieces, Debra Webb Thomas and Jamie Michelle Laird; cousins Charlie Frank Greer and Thomas Eugene Greer.
She is survived by her daughter, Shawnie Leigh Edwards, husband Robert; son, James “Jim” Laton Cole; sister, Shirley Faye Skinner, husband Richard; brother, Herbert Frank Parker, wife Patricia; grandchildren, Tabitha Nicole Sparks, husband Jamie, and Phoenix Falyn Edwards; great grandchildren, James Alexander Sparks; cousin, Dempsey Greer; and lifelong friend Joyce Sanders Kacer; grand dogs, Jaybe and Lillie; extended family members and close friends.
