Mary Helen Ryals Trammell

Mary Helen Ryals Trammell, 87, of Clayton, AL passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Medical Center in Eufaula, AL. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am EST Wednesday morning, March 11, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Todd Quintard officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Mrs. Trammell was born December 27, 1927 in Baker Hill, AL to the late Doc Ryals and Edna Hartzog Ryals. She was retired from Tom's Peanuts with over 50 years of service. She was a Christian by faith. Mrs. Trammell was a Crimson Tide fan, loved the Atlanta Braves, fishing, and family time. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Clyde Trammell, daughter, Linda Nell Stewart, brother, Rufus Ryals, and great granddaughter, Alicia Trammell. She is survived by two sons, Steven Coleman Trammell, Sr. of McCall, ID and Arthur Daniel Trammell of Groton, CT, sister, Nellie Gordon of Pell City, AL, brother, Jack Ryals of Baker Hill, AL; special group of young men who she help to raise, grandson, Steve Trammell, Jr., Michael Toole, and Miguel Santiago, (7) grandchildren, Shannon Stewart, Steve Trammell, Jr. (Lisa), Kellie Barson (John), Chris Trammel, Heather Trammell, Jeremiah Trammell (Melissa), and Amy Newcomb (Kraig), (8) great grandchildren, Madison, Cole, Halle, Delaney, Danica, Lilli, Karter and Karson, special cousins and caregivers, Wayne and Dee Dee Griffin, numerous other loving family members and many caring friends.
