Mary C. Bailey Hood, 98, of The Villages, FL formerly of Phenix City, AL died at her home at Buffalo Crossing, in The Villages, FL.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM (EST) on Sunday, August 04, 2024, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating. A private interment will be at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at the funeral home on Sunday.
Mrs. Hood was born May 07, 1926, in Opelika, AL daughter of the late Cecil Bailey and Mary Will Bailey. She was a Dental Hygienist for several years and worked for Dr. Harold Rogers. Mrs. Hood was an active member of Summerville Baptist Church where she enjoyed worship and fellowship with her friends and family. She was always smiling and had a sweet spirit about her no matter the situation.
We will remember her sweet smile and humble spirit. She has set a great example for our family and those she met by living out her Christian faith daily.
Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Mary Will Bailey; her husband Ralph Wilbur Hood; three brothers, Don, Joe and Bo Bailey; a daughter-in-law, Susan Crane.
Survivors include her three sons, Ronnie Crane and Donnie Crane (Patrice “Sissy” Hubbard) all of The Villages, FL and John Michael Crane (Gail), Alpharetta, GA; six grandchildren, Tiffany Hall, Santa Rosa, FL, Patrick Crane, Cumming, GA, Chad Crane, Cumming, GA, Todd Crane, Colorado Springs, CO, Kelsey Guthrie, Douglas, GA and Kyle Crane, Acworth, GA; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
