Mary "Jackie" Jacquline Bailey

Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Bailey, 52, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in the comfort of her home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm EDT today (Saturday), September 3, 2016 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral on Saturday.

Jackie was born June 1, 1964 in Columbus, GA to Mary Carolyn McCarthy Griffin and the late Bobby Jack “Bo” Bailey.  She had worked most of her life as a professional cosmetologist and beautician.  She cherished family, being a mother, loved all children, and enjoyed outside yard activities, visiting the beach and the Florida sunshine.  Other than her father, she was preceded in death by her only son, Andrew Bailey Dempsey.

She is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Ashley and Betty Anne Pollock.

She is survived by her mother, Mary Carolyn McCarthy Griffin and her step-father, Big Jim Griffin who loved her as his own, one sister, Susan Elizabeth Bailey; nieces, Destinee Nixon and Katie Nixon, a very special dear friend, Dodd Chapman, uncle, Samuel McCarthy; cousins, Brad and Tiffany Pollock and Chaker and Ashley Anne Barhoumi, their son Elias; a host of cousins, other loving family members, and many caring friends.  Online condolences may be made to www.vancememorialchapel.net
