Mary Nell Overton

Mary Nell Overton, 71, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Friday September 11, 2015 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon EDT Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jeffery Overton and Rev. Greg Hyche officiating, according to Vance Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm EDT at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, GA.  The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Overton was born December 4, 1943 in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late John Paul Jones and Sallie Mae Jean Jones.  She worked as a Data Processor for AFLAC until her retirement and was a faithful member of Ladonia Baptist Church.  She enjoyed playing the piano at all of the churches she served and recently retired from playing the piano at Ladonia Baptist Church. 

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne R. Overton; two sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Overton is survived by two sons, Jeffery Wayne Overton and wife Cheri of Fernandina Beach, FL and Brian Overton and wife Sandra of Knoxville, TN; one brother, Winston Jones and wife Julie of Olathe, KS; six Grandchildren, Elizabeth Overton, Winston Overton and wife Amanda, Andrew Overton, Courtney Greathouse and husband Kiley, Hannah Overton and Isaac Overton; many other extended family and caring friends.
