Mary “Sally” Kennedy, 77, of Phenix City, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior and join her parents in Heaven on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Canterbury Health Care in Phenix City, AL. Sally was born May 22, 1938 in Phenix City, AL to the late Reuben Ellis Kennedy, Sr. and Mary Ellen Culpepper Kennedy. Sally received her education from Summerville Elementary School and Central High School in Phenix City; and went on to continue her education at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL. She was retired from Phenix Regional Hospital / Columbus Regional Hospital with 41 years of service. She served diligently and faithfully as a Medical Records Clerk in the Medical Records Department of Phenix Regional Hospital. She was admired for her dependability, commitment to teamwork, and loyalty to the company and its mission; and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and displayed a positive attitude. Sally was a lifetime member of Lakewood Baptist Church, and she loved her church family. She enjoyed listening to classical music, playing the piano, reading her Bible, and many historical books. She is survived by her sister, Dolly Stokes of Phenix City, AL, and a brother, Reuben “Ellis” Kennedy, Jr. and wife Jamie of Lake Harding, AL; Nieces and nephews, Kathy Coulter (Sonny), Angel Pitts (Jason), Steve Stokes (Donna), and Ken Kennedy, numerous great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful for the loving care given to Sally by her caregivers, Debra and Dorothy and their team. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EDT Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Dr. Jerry Horner officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Stokes, Ken Kennedy, Jason Pitts, Chris Nolan, Eric Kennedy, Bronny Brown, and Jay Coulter. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Lakewood Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.vancememorialchapel.net
