Mary “Jane” Sharpe, 81, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday morning, April 30, 2024, in the comfort of her home while surrounded by her loving family.
Private graveside services will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens on Monday, May 6, 2024. The family will receive friends Monday morning, May 6, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am EDT at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City.
Mrs. Sharpe was born January 5, 1943, in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Henry Curtis Donahoo and Erma Mott Donahoo. She was employed with Phenix City Utilities with 33 years of loyal service and retired. She was a huge Atlanta Braves fan. She enjoyed cooking, working in her yard, tending to her flowers, especially her red roses, singing, listening to southern gospel music, reading her bible, and praying. But her greatest passion was all her family, helping love and raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a lady full of grace and compassion, and a Christian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William G. “Bubba” Sharpe of 52 years and one brother, Charles Donahue.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, William Paul “Billy” Sharpe and wife Dolores of Salem, AL, Michael “Mike” Sharpe and wife Norma of Phenix City, AL, Jeffery “Jeff” Sharpe and wife Amy of Ellerslie, GA, David M. Sharpe of Phenix City, AL, and Jessica Sharpe of Phenix City, AL, four sisters, Barbara Raines of Ft/ Worth, TX, Frances Gaylor of Midland, GA, Sue Babbitt of New York, and Patsy Duffell of Columbus, GA, one brother, Mark Donahue of Columbus, GA, (8) grandchildren, Russell Sharpe (Kelly), Amanda Sharpe, Paige Sharpe, Tyson Sharpe, Angel Pabia (Dylan), Abby Garner, Dasilyn Ebanks, and John Ebanks, (6) great grandchildren, Summer, Skye, Jaxon, Chelsie, Mercy, and Ellis, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
