Maudie Paul Hagler, 100, of Crawford, AL passed away peacefully late Saturday night, September 21, 2024, in the comfort of her daughter’s home in Crawford, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Crawford Baptist Church in the Crawford Community with Rev. Steve Williamson, and Rev. Matt Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Crawford Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am EDT at Crawford Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hagler was born May 8, 1924, in Henry County, Alabama, daughter of the late J. D. Paul and Ada Lee Dykes Paul. She was a lady of great character who loved and cherished all her family with a divined love and passion for Godly values. She enjoyed cooking and preparing Sunday dinners, tending to her garden and canning, needle work, word puzzles, reading, observing her beautiful flowers, bird watching while enjoying the many hummingbirds buzzing by in nature’s flight. She was a longtime member of Crawford Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hagler was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Hagler, Jr.; son, Steve Hagler; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hagler; four brothers, Clifford Paul, Loyce Paul, Howard Paul, and Jessie James Paul, and two sisters, Willine Higdon, and Clara Faircloth.
She Is survived by two daughters, Barbara Yarbrough and husband Thomas of Phenix City, AL, and Paulette Colbert and husband Keith of Smiths Station, AL; eight grandchildren, Dana Spurlin, Justin Hagler, April Yarbrough, Josh Yarbrough, Heath Colbert, Brandon Colbert (Sarah), Lance Colbert (Christina), and Tiffany Carroll; eight great-grandchildren, Elsie Yarbrough, Thatcher Yarbrough, John Yarbrough, William Colbert, Harper Colbert, Caroline Colbert, Sadie Colbert, and Sophie Colbert; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions may be made to the Alabama Children’s Home or to your favorite charity in loving memory of Mrs. Maudie Paul Hagler.
