Melania “Melly” Dailey, 81, of Smiths Station, AL died while in the care of Piedmont Regional Columbus (Midtown), Columbus, GA on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Mrs. Dailey was born on April 14, 1943 in Chiriquí, Panama, daughter of the late Donta Gonzalez and Ana Marie Sanjur. She was an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church where she was part of the Outreach Ministry, Ladies Auxiliary, and CCW. Mrs. Dailey retired from Ft. Benning as a Food Service Clerk after 24 years. She loved to work in the yard while growing beautiful flowers. Mrs. Dailey was also a great cook known for her tamales. In her spare time, she also served as a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant.
She will be remembered as a quiet lady who loved her family and found great solace in being active in her church. We will miss her so much but her memories will always be in our hearts.
Mrs. Dailey was preceded in death by her parents, Donta Gonzalez and Ana Marie Sanjur, and her siblings.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Bernard “Bernie” D. Dailey, Smiths Station, AL; one daughter, Kristine Manglona-Huang and son-in-law Joseph, Lawrenceville, GA; one granddaughter, Kayla Manglona; including family and friends in her home country of Panama and extended family members in West Virginia.
