Michael “Waldo” Walden, age 39, resident of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital. (UAB). Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, 3738 US Hwy 431N/280, Phenix City, Alabama on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, 1 p.m. with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Michael, son of James Michael Walden and Tracy Lynn Wade Oswalt, was born February 27, 1982 in Columbus, Georgia. He was a young man that enjoyed life. Michael was an avid golfer; loved baseball and softball; fishing; Georgia Bulldog football; and watching Braves baseball. Michael always looked forward to being outdoors; but most of all he loved spending quality time with his daughter. The family remembers Michael as a man who knew no strangers; always tried to help others; and was a father who loved his daughter immensely.
Michael was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Walden. He is survived by his father, Mike Walden of Columbus, Georgia; mother, Tracy Oswalt and her husband Brian of Phenix City; paternal grandfather, James E. Walden of Columbus; daughter, Chloe Walden of Smiths Station, Alabama; step-sister, Nicole Oswalt of Opelika, Alabama; many other relatives and friends.
