Ms. Kirkland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Parkwood Health Care in Phenix City, AL
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT Friday, September 15, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Robert Goodman officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service on Friday at the funeral home.
Ms. Kirkland was born November 12, 1922 in Pike County, Alabama, the second child of the late Thomas (Tom) Monroe Harden and Mavis Adams Harden. She moved to Phenix City around 1940. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and was retired from Winn Dixie Stores.
Predeceased by daughters June Catlin and Ann Watt, sister Hazel Williams and brothers Austin Harden, William (Bill) Harden, and TJ Harden.
Ms. Kirkland is survived by daughter and son in-law Idell and Charles Arnold, Mableton, GA; sisters Shirley Jenkins and Verlin Beavers (Bobby), Phenix City; Linda Caldwell (Kenny), Warner Robins, GA; brother Milton Harden (Darlene), Milton, FL; granddaughters Jody Davis, Whitesburg, GA and Tiffany Spriggs, Austell, GA; grandson Patrick Arnold, Douglasville, GA; great-grandson, Jeremy Landrum, Winston, GA; great-granddaughter Jessica Landrum, Whitesburg, GA; great-great-granddaughters Bailee and Katy Landrum, Winston, GA, and Sara and Hana Roberts, Whitesburg, GA; sisters-in-law Irene, Mabel and Willie Jean Harden; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
