Minor Henderson Hilton, Jr, 71, of Phenix City, AL died at his residence Sunday, June 30, 2019 with his family at his side.
Graveside services with Marine honors will be held at 12:30 PM (EST) on Friday, July 05, 2019 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery with Rev. James Bonner officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Waites, James Pferrman, Jon Hilton, Dylan Hilton, Jordan Britton and Scott Hilton. The family will host family and friends following the committal service at Cherry’s home.
Mr. Hilton was born July 17, 1947 in Cheraw, SC son of the late Minor H. Hilton, Sr. and Jewel Adams Flowers. He served honorably in the U. S. Marie Corps during which time he served three tours in Viet Nam. Mr. Hilton was also the recipient of the Purple Heart. He loved to travel, drink coffee (no mater the time of day or weather), eating at the Waffle House with his brother and working on cars. The greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren. They were his world. We will miss him, but he has left fond memories on our hearts and minds forever.
Mr. Hilton was also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Meridith Hilton, a sister, Christine Mock and a great-grandson, Conner Flowers.
Survivors include his four children, Cherry Fallon (Matthew), Midland, GA, Sherry Hilton (Paul Flowers) and Tonia Hilton all of Phenix City, AL and James Hilton (Teresa) West Point, GA; one brother, Lacy Hilton (Terry), Phenix City, AL; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
