Mona Rae Evenson

Mona Rae Evenson, 86, of Phenix City, AL went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
 A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 12:00 pm EST with visitation 1 hour before the service at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery and Rev. Ricky Ward will be officiating.   

Mona was born in Bay City, MI, daughter of the late Ray and Emily Beson. She served her country in the US Air Force and worked in the service industry. Mona enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved putting puzzles together and playing card games with her friends and family. She was a devoted mom, grandma and nanny and loved her family dearly.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley R. Evenson and 3 sisters, Mary Anne, Marlene and Cherythe.

She is survived by her children, Bill Evenson (Phyllis) of Orange Park, FL, RaeLynn Zahn (Bill) of Phenix City, AL, John Evenson (Stacy) of Valley, AL, Matt Evenson (Francine) of Phenix City, AL and Mark Evenson of Phenix City; AL; a brother, Edward Beson (Sharon) of Tabor City, NC; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; other loving family members in Michigan and many special friends who were like family.
