Mrs. Johnnie Dixon Waters, 84, of Smiths Station, AL died peacefully at the home of her daughter under the care of Columbus Hospice on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

Private Services will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL.

Mrs. Waters was born October 25, 1939 in Columbus, GA daughter of the late John William Dixon and Ruby Butterworth Dixon. She had retired from Interstate Brands as a Bakery Production Line Worker after 20 years of service. Mrs. Waters loved to cook and was renowned for “award winning” fried catfish. She also cooked some of the best cornbread dressing ever served on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mrs. Waters loved to cook and often shared this gift with family and friends. She will be missed so much, but we know she is safe in Heaven now.

Left to cherish her memories are her four children, Rhonda Waters Tabb (Tommy), Rita Waters Nickloson (Mike), Robert “Bo” Waters and Todd D. Waters; one sister, Billie D. Haught and sister-in-law, Sue W. Jenkins; eight grandchildren, Trey Tabb (Rachel), Travis Tabb, Jessica DeMay (John), Tiffany Childs, Shelby McHargue (Josh), Angel Harris (Byrd), Sarah Waters, William Waters (Lorian) and twenty precious great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
