Mrs. Kathryn Jackson Murphy

Mrs. Kathryn Jackson Murphy, 71, of Box Springs, GA passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, January 5, 2024 at New Providence Baptist Church, 197 Providence Church Road, Buena Vista, GA with Rev. David Chapman officiating.

Mrs. Murphy was born on July 11, 1952 in Brewton, AL daughter of the late Lawrence Patrick Jackson and Lucille Margaret Cox Jackson. She worked as a Dental Assistant with the Civil Service on Ft. Benning until her retirement. Mrs. Murphy enjoyed traveling and attending car shows with her husband. She also enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond, with her favorite trip being a trip to Memphis, TN for a Niel Diamond concert that was a birthday present from her husband.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn Kemp, Barbara Jackson and Margaret Jackson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ronald Murphy of Box Springs, GA; two daughters, Karey Kane and husband Mike of Columbus, GA and Heather Davidson of Box Springs, GA; three sisters, Elinor Wilder of Brewton, AL, Patricia “Trish” Bagwell of Brewton, AL and Deborah Liss of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Harry Jackson and wife Jane of Asheville, NC and Terry Jackson of Brewton, AL; grandchildren, Jack Connally (Selina), Miller Connally and Aidan Davidson; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
