Myriam Elizabeth Key Griffin, 84, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully late Sunday night, September 13, 2015 in the comfort of her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EDT Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Eugene Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. A private interment will follow at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Enterprise, AL.
Mrs. Griffin was born October 27, 1930 in Goodman, AL to the late Thurber Key and Jennie Floyd Key. She was retired from Dolly Madison in Columbus, GA and was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed Gardening, Flowers, raising parrots, art painting, camping, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Woodman of the World and the Phenix City Senior Center. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, and her beloved pet dog Floppy.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Billy Joe Griffin of Phenix City, AL, two daughters, Barbara Kelley of New Brockton, AL and Sheila Kelley and husband Harold of Jacksonville, AL, one son, Roy McCall and wife Debbie of Daleville, AL, four stepchildren, Vickie Lynn Griggs and husband Seabo of Seale, AL, Brenda Faye Fernander and husband Neil of Greenville, GA, Beverly Scott and husband Jeff of LaGrange, GA, and Wayne Griffin of Phenix City, AL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Myriam Elizabeth Griffin.
