Myrtle Moore House

Mrs. Myrtle Moore House, 90, of Phenix City, AL passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Columbus Hospice House in Columbus, GA.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am EDT Friday, June 7, 2024 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City, AL with Minister Jeff McCrary officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.  

Mrs. House was born December 19, 1933 in Mississippi, daughter of the late Lewis and Lonia Moore.   She worked in the Business Office at Wal-Mart for over 13 years before retiring.  Mrs. House was an excellent cook and her hobbies included sewing and crocheting.   Her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mrs. House was a member of the River City Church of Christ.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. House, Sr.; a daughter, Sandra Rives; and two grandchildren, Jen House and Paul Ellis.

Mrs. House is survived by her children, Patricia Luker of Columbus, GA, Morris E. House, Jr. and wife Tina of Columbus, GA, Donna Oakes of Smiths Station, AL and Verna Benezue and husband Glen of Gulfport, MS; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the River City Church of Christ, 835 Double Churches Road, Columbus, GA 31904.
