Myrtlene Jeter

Myrtlene Nelson Jeter, 87, of Phenix City, AL died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, May 23, 2020, in the Chapel of Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Jon McLain officiating. The interment will follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Mrs. Jeter was born September 14, 1932 in Crenshaw County, AL daughter of the late Ted Nelson and Trudie Smith Nelson.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she enjoyed worshipping. Mrs. Jeter was also still actively involved in Ace Electrical Maintenance Co., the business she and her late husband, Aubrey, started nearly 50 years ago. She loved cooking and dinners with her family, gardening and country music, but most of all, she loved her family immensely and spending time with them was her greatest joy. We will always cherish fond memories of her in our hearts.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Aubrey Harold Jeter and son-in-law, Phillip Barr.

Survivors include her four children, Peggy Ann Barr, Phenix City, AL, Jane Russell (Steve) Daytona Beach, FL, Judy Raley (Wayne), Smiths Station, AL and Mike Jeter, Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Kristy Harris (Rick), New Windsor, MD, Heather Hallam (Brad), Amber Shepherd (Justin) all of Smiths Station, AL and Kayla Jeter, Phenix City, AL; five precious great-grandchildren, Jake Taylor, Aubrey Hallam, Ansley Hallam, Addison Shepherd and Kinsley Jeter; two brothers, James Nelson (Dorothy) and Jeter Nelson (Carol) all of Largo, FL and several nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.
