Nancy "Dusty" Dacan Funk

Nancy “Dusty” Dacan Funk, 78, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Magnolia Manor Healthcare in Columbus, GA

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm EST on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Rev. Robb Goodman officiating.  A private burial will take place at Lakeview Memory Gardens Wednesday morning where she will be laid to rest with her late husband of 38 years, Mr. William Ray Funk.   The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm EST, one hour prior to her service at the funeral home in Phenix City.

Mrs. Funk was born March 29, 1945, in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Charles F. Dacan and Esther Emma Seibert Dacan.  She was a homemaker and had worked for many dedicated years in banking as a customer service representative for SouthTrust Bank and was retired.  She enjoyed church fellowship and loved participating in all church activities including singing in the choir and having the honor to serve on the church finance committee.  She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City.

Other than her parents, and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Wilhelm and a sister, Donna F. Hacker.

She is survived by her children, Greg Funk and wife Melody, Trey Wilhelm, Chris Funk and wife Angie, and Vickie Curtis and husband John and their family; one sister, Denice Pace and husband Bob; two grandchildren, Ethan Funk and wife Sierra, and Tony Wilhelm and wife Nitasha; several great grandchildren; numerous other loving family members; church family, and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Bible Way Rwanda Project at Summerville Baptist Church in loving memory of Mrs. Nancy “Dusty” Funk.
