Nancy "June" Mcgowan

Mrs. Nancy “June” McGowan, 83, of Phenix City, Alabama, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at the Columbus Hospice House, while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 16, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel with Pastor Danny Ryals officiating. Interment will be immediately following the service at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. McGowan was born in Barbour County, AL to the late Davis Franklin Mann and Alma Francis Dease Mann. In addition to being a homemaker, she was an active partner in several business adventures with her husband to include a commercial fishing business.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGowan was preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmy Lee McGowan, one son Samuel Lee McGowan, two brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are five daughters; Martha Lee Rich and husband Joe of Dothan, AL, Carol Williams of Dothan, AL, Jackie Sowell and husband Curry of Bonifay, FL, Reba Carr of Ladonia, AL and Bonnie Rivera and husband Luis of Salem, AL; one son Cody McGowan and wife Karita of Lafayette, AL; one brother Zander Lee Man; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the nurses and staff of Columbus Hospice House for their care and devotion to Mrs. June.
