Nanette D. Day

Nanette Daniels Day, 90, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2017 in the comfort of home while surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am EST Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Greg Hyche officiating.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm EST at the funeral home.

Mrs. Day was born November 17, 1926 in Brundidge, AL to the late Issac John Daniels and Corrie Graves Daniels.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family deeply.  She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, had a gift of being a master seamstress, and she had a passion for her community and church.  She was member of the Phenix City Shrinette’s and was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church.  Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Gene Monroe Day, one sister, Ouida Strickland, and two brothers, Brandon Daniels, and Rex Daniels.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Sanders, and Nancy McElveen and husband Erskin, and one son, Larry Day and wife Cheryl, all of Phenix City, AL, two sisters, Sybil Swindall of Troy, AL, and Ann Hughes and husband Don of Ariton, AL, (5) grandchildren, Todd Thomley (Christi), Cherie Brown, Landon Day (Vicki), Amber McElveen, and Lance Day (Amber), (5) great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.  Online condolences may be shared at www.vancememorialchapel.net
