Nelda White

Nelda Ruth Baker White, 79, of Wetumpka, AL, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm EDT, Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Thurman officiating.  A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens.  The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 until 3:00 pm EDT at the funeral home.

Mrs. White was born on January 22, 1940, in Ariton, AL, daughter of the late Johnny Pascal Baker and Bonnie Ruth Tyler Baker.  She was a homemaker and a former member of the Sandfort Road Assembly of God Church.  Mrs. White had a caring heart as demonstrated by her volunteering with the Mercy Mission Foodbank and the Russell County Search and Rescue many years ago.  She enjoyed sewing, dominos and reading her Bible.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Henry Aaron White.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Shelton Taylor and husband John of Wetumpka, AL; two sisters, Janie Baker Carson of Phenix City, AL and Ann Baker Ellis and husband Glen of Brundidge, AL; one grandchild, Paula Lawson and husband Matt of Wetumpka, AL; three great-grandchildren, Jazmine Edwards-Lucas, Antonio Jared Edwards-Lucas and Jaylin Nicole Edwards-Steele; several extended family and caring friends.
