Nora “Wilene” Paul, 90, of Smiths Station, AL passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, June 28, 2024, at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Vance Brooks Funeral Home in Phenix City with Pastor Nelson Lugo officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Phenix City.
Mrs. Paul was born January 14, 1934, in Dothan, AL, daughter of the late C. H. Dixon, Sr. and Ila Mae Dickerson Dixon. She was employed with Dolly Madison working for many years of dedicated and loyal service. She enjoyed gardening and canning, the outdoors, vacations to the mountains, eating catfish, cooking, and was known for delicious homemade biscuits from scratch. But her greatest joy was sharing and spending precious moments with all her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a lady of grace who loved her Lord and Savior and was a long-time member of First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Imogene Quimbley, and three brothers, Earl Dixon, Eugene Dixon, and Crawford Howell Dixon, Jr.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 73 ½ years, Wiley Eugene Paul; three daughters, Glynthia Paul Wylie, Teri Paul Rogers and husband Tracy, and Connie Paul Owens and husband Kenny; twelve grandchildren, Shawn Cantrell, Eric Cantrell, Clint Hammond, Canaan Hammond (Gayle), Jacob Roberts (Brittany), Caleb Roberts, Eric Owens (Brooke), McKenzie Brown (Dustin), Lacie Vaughn (Joseph), Chris Rogers (Mary), Anthony Rogers, and Jeremy Jones; nineteen great- grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many caring friends.
