Mrs. Norma was born May 20, 1944 in Columbus, GA to the late J. T. Otts and Esther Smith Otts. She was a lady of many talents and achievements including floristry- which she began at the age of 17, singing, songwriting, painting, bowling, and cosmetology. Mrs. Norma was the owner of Dixie Cuts Hair Salon which operated for more than twenty years until she retired last September. She was also a homemaker throughout her life and was always caring for others. When Mrs. Norma was in her twenties, she traveled to Nashville with her sister, Shirley, to record her original songs, and cut a record. Many recognized her beautiful voice, guitar strumming, and serene harmonizing with Shirley. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Phenix City for over 60 years. We will remember her as being determined, youthful and always willing to help anyone she came in contact with. She will be missed by all who knew her, but her impact will continue to influence future generations.
