Olga Hobbs, 84, of Columbus, GA. passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.  A memorial service will be held at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Rd., Columbus, GA. 31907 on Sunday, December 31, 2017 beginning at 2:00 PM EST, with Pastor Billy Duncan  officiating.   

Olga was born May 17, 1933 in Nuremberg, Germany to the parents of Karl and Marie Durst.  Olga was a survivor of World War II. She was a member of Beallwood Baptist Church.   Olga served her local community as a member of Order of The Eastern Star, Columbus number 4, Ft. Benning chapter.  Olga loved creating and nurturing beauty through crochet, embroidery and gardening. Olga will forever be missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.   

Other than her parents, Olga is predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Harry Hobbs.  She is also predeceased by four brothers.

Survivors include two daughters; Peggy Allen of Columbus, GA. and Rita Lopez of Dallas, TX.  Olga is also survived by one sister, Hella Maul of Nuremburg, Germany as well as two brothers; Heinz (Margot) Durst of Nuremberg and Klaus (Petra) Durst also of Nuremberg, Germany.  Olga is also survived by six grandchildren; Matthew Lopez of Dallas, TX., Carly (Justin) Pearce of Dallas, TX., Savannah Allen of Columbus, GA., Janell Burnham of Ladonia, AL., Melinda (Michel) Vargas of Columbus, GA. and Guy (Deana) of Youngsville, NC.  Olga is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
