Oscar Ronald “Ron” Ivey, 78, of Phenix City, AL passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon EST Monday, November 27, 2017 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Steve Hood officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm EST at the funeral home.
Mr. Ivey was born March 11, 1939 in Phenix City, AL to the late Robert Leo Ivey and Mary Gladys Kennington Ivey. He had worked for many years with Tom’s Foods and retired from Kellogg’s in Columbus, GA. Mr. Ivey served our country proudly and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a former member of the Crawford Masonic Lodge, Phenix City Shriners, and the Eastern Star. He loved the outdoors, and he enjoyed fishing and watching Fox News on TV. He was a member of Golden Acres Baptist Church.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Priscilla Louise DeLoach Ivey of Phenix City, AL, one daughter, Cynthia Lynn Ivey Guyer and husband Scott of Murrell Inlet, SC, son, Timothy Michael “Tim” Ivey and wife Suzanne of Salem, AL, two sisters, Martha Priscilla Neible and husband Jack of Salem, AL, and Gypsey Agnes Toole of Salem, AL, three brothers, Charles Samuel Ivey and wife Lynda of Phenix City, AL, Grady Michael Ivey and wife Margie of Smiths Station, AL, and Gary Leo Ivey and wife Becky of Phenix City, AL; (4) grandchildren, Caylyn Michael Ivey, Austin Ty Guyer, Nicholas Tate Guyer, and Logan Carroll (Amber), (3) precious great grandchildren, Alivia, Natalie, and Presley, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and many caring friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the Wounded Warriors Foundation in memory of Mr. Oscar Ronald “Ron” Ivey.
