Ouida Peters Shiver, 74, of Phenix City, AL passed away peacefully early Monday morning, January 5, 2015 in the comfort of her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Pastor Ron Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens and the family will receive friends this evening (Wednesday) from 6:00 to 9:00 pm EST at the funeral home. Mrs. Shiver was born July 7, 1940 in Slocomb, AL to the late Wesley Peters and Linnie Mae Tew Peters. She had worked with St. Francis Hospital and as an Independent Certified Nursing Assistant in private home health care. She was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church in Phenix City. She taught Sunday School, was a coordinator of Royal Rangers and Missionettes and she was former member of Pierce Chapel Assembly of God. She had devoted herself to helping in the youth ministries of the church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L C Shiver, and three brothers, Rev. Don Peters, Rev. Jerald Peters, and J W Peters. She is survived by three sons, Mike Shiver and wife Liz of Salem, AL, Mikey Shiver of Phenix City, AL, and Jeff Shiver and wife Pat of Smiths Station, AL, three sisters, Rev. Betty Kelly of Columbus, GA, Shirley Killingsworth and husband Robert of Phenix City, AL, and Opal Miller and husband Jackie of Orlando, FL, one brother, Johnny Peters of Laton, UT, special sister-in-law, Elaine Wheatly and husband Jimmy, many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and many friends.
